About the department
The department and its three sections conduct research in: Old Icelandic and Old Norwegian, Old Danish and Old Swedish language and literature, modern Icelandic and Faroese language and literature; Danish spoken language: dialects, regional speech and sociolects; Danish and Nordic place-names and personal names.
All three sections undertake consultancy work for public institutions as well as for the public. Read more.
